Freddie Mercury & Giorgio Moroder - Love Kills

Magnificent collaboration between Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and the King of Elektro Diskow, Giorgio Moroder for the 1984 revamped soundtrack of Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

In recent years, the track has found its way into discerning DJ sets across the globe with Belgian duo the Glimmers re-editing it superbly for release and including it on their excellent Fabric Live mix album.

Kraftwerk - 6music Specials!

BBC 6music have just run an excellent series of documentaries and specials over the weekend celebrating the overlords of Elektro, Kraftwerk, 30 years on from their 1982 UK number 1 single, the Model.  The undoubted highlight of the series was Wall Of Sound's Mark Jones and his excellent occasional 6mix show Back To The Phuture which featured a guest appearance by Mute Records boss Daniel Miller.

Kraftwerk expert and fan Daniel takes us through the story and impact of possibly the most influential group in pop music history. Also worth a mention is Huey Morgan's interview with Kraftwerk fan (and sampler via Planet Rock!) the legendary Afrika Bambaataa.

Catch the programme while you can here!

Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough (BBC TV Performance:1981)

Apologies for the sound and picture quality in places, but this is a truly fantastic timepiece. Taken from a long- forgotten BBC TV progamme (Superstar? No, me neither!) this must have been one of the very last times that the original Depeche Mode line-up performed together before Vince Clarke went off to form Yazoo. As a Friday bonus, here's the weird, wonderful and way ahead of its time Schizo mix of JCGE (also from '81)which clearly had a big influence on and impact in the clubs of Detroit and Chicago!
